Head, hand and heart: immersive learning for a demanding new climate at Queen's University Belfast's School of Law

Working closely with Schumacher College in England, the School of Law at Queen's University Belfast has introduced a number of innovative pedagogical approaches to the study of law and sustainable development. This article explores a collaboration with Schumacher Ireland resulting in a residential student experience with a view to combining an immersive experience of work and conviviality to encourage student-led inquiries into their legal vocation and commitment to sustainability. A second experiment has drawn on the Climate Interactive online tool to provide climate change students with an opportunity to experience negotiations in real time.
