Description
The LLM in Public Law was established in 2006. As the Assistant Director of this programme, myself and the Director of the programme (Ms. Marie McGonagle) decided to host an annual conference with students on the programme as a means of introducing contemporary issues in public law to them and providing them with an opportunity of meeting and liaising with their new classmates. This conference was arranged for the Burren in Co. Clare. The students were treated to a morning of papers and presentations from academics and members of the judiciary. There was also a graduate panel where graduates from the panel talked about how the programme had enhanced their employability as well as illustrating to students the diverse routes for jobs arising from this programme. It was a successful day and was repeated in September 2012 (when I acted as a chair of the event).
