DescriptionTo commemorate the 100th anniversary of the March 1st Independence Movement, which took place in 1919 to resist Japanese colonial rule in Korea, and the establishment of the Korean Provisional Government, established in Shanghai on April 11, 1919, the Northeast Asian History Foundation has organised a conference dedicated to revealing the meanings of independence movements in East and West and their political significance to international society from the comparative perspective. The overall theme of the conference is 'East Asian Independence Movement in the Global Context of Democracy and Republicanism'.
