Description

The Action Group on Processions, is being formed as a partnership between Police Scotland, Glasgow City Council, COSLA, Edinburgh City Council, members of the former working group and a human rights advisor. This partnership has the remit: (1) To develop a pilot based on, but not limited to, the conclusions and recommendations set out in the report of the Short Life Working Group on Facilitating Peaceful Assemblies in Scotland. (2) To consider the content and practicalities of delivering the pilot to ensure it is compatible with human rights; (3) is deliverable; and (4) can be fully and properly evaluated so that any actions taken forward based on the outcomes of the pilot will lead to improvements in the management of processions.
