In these three workshops, the training of SMDBS Research Staff was undertaken in three Active Bystander Training workshops. Afterwards, the staff who were trained were capable of training other staff and students. The purpose was to teach the trainee how to challenge inappropriate behaviour especially when it is related to individuals with protected characteristics. These workshops were specifically to cater for research staff who had missed previous active bystander sessions delivered to education staff.
