Africa in Ireland: Historical and Theoretical Perspectives at Queen's University Belfast

Description

I have been helping to organize a two-day conference with a colleague from QUB and others from the Republic and the US that will bring together scholars, community members, and all other interested participants to consider the lived experiences of past and present people of African descent in Ireland. I will also participate in a round table discussion on the work of Dr. Bill Hart, retired of Ulster University, who researched exhaustively to find evidence of African-descended individuals from the 17th century to the 20th century living or visiting Ireland.
