AISNA (Associazione Italiana di Studi Nord-Americani) is the Italian Association for American Studies, founded in 1973. It brings together scholars, teachers, students, and professionals both within and beyond academia who share an interest in the study of North American literature, history, the arts, culture, society, and institutions. AISNA’s institutional mission is to promote research and teaching in the field of American Studies in Italy and to foster contact and exchange among its members, as well as between AISNA members and American Studies scholars and associations worldwide. AISNA is a constituent member of the European Association for American Studies (EAAS) and holds a permanent seat on its Board.
