Description

Student led public outreach event, facilitated and guided by Dr. L. Basell and hosted by the Lagan Valley Regional Park who were collaborators . The advertsing was as follows: "Visit Shaw's Bridge with archaeologists from Queen's University to learn about the heritage of the Lagan Valley. Walk with us and discover how past cultures lived in the landscape, look at artefacts used by our ancient ancestors and learn about the techniques used by archaeologists to investigate the past". Students manned a stall of artefacts, talked to members of the public, produced a series of information sheets and handouts, and ran guided walks with an accompanying guide they had produced. This differed from the the walk run later in the year at a second event at The Giant's Ring.
