Description

Associate Member of the Ethics and Medical Humanities (FICEM) Committee of the International Federation of Association of Anatomists (IFAA). IFAA is the professional domicile of Associations of Anatomy from around the globe.

My task is to encourage the Anatomical Community to implement body donation programs in the international conferences, explaining its challenges and ethics that should be followed. Additionally, historically, anatomical collections of human remains have been a cornerstone of anatomy education and research. Their past and potential future contributions to anatomical knowledge and professional development are significant, and, in many cases, they represent an irreplaceable historical archive. The American Association for Anatomy and the FICEM Committee has adopted this Policy on Legacy Anatomical Collections to provide clear expectations on the ethics of holding, using, and caring for legacy anatomical collections in Anatomy Institutions - (Impact on the Anatomical Community) .

FICEM Committee usually get the Associate Members to serve for a while before including them as Full Members.
