Description
A 4-day, international, multi-disciplinary event examining the concept of adoptees' origin deprivation – the loss of genetic identity, natal ancestry, and familial kinship - from a variety of perspectives, both academic and NGO-led. The Korean Adoptee Adoption Research Network (KAARN) is a lead partner, with support from Professor Emily Hipchen, Brown University, US. Participants and speakers are drawn from the fields of law, literature, gender studies, philosophy, history, social welfare, and intercultural studies.
