Description

'Baby first’ is the Reusable Learning Object (RLO) that I lead on from conception to co-producing to c0-designing in 2010, with student intellectual disability nurses and student midwives (n=17). The content has beenco-produced with students and it is a web based educational tool for the education and professional development of all health care professionals who support families who have children born with an intellectual disability. This interactive e-learning resource incorporates text, graphics, pictures and audio to support and enhance learning.

The user is prompted by the narrator to make choices and depending on the choices made a variety of options will follow. The user is introduced to the concept of vicious and learning circles to help them explore their own anxieties and challenge them to change words into positive outcomes. However, to fully experience the RLO, which is held on the Nottingham University repository, this e-learning resource is freely available for review.
