Activity: Participating in or organising an event typesParticipation in conference

Description

I was a member of the organising committee for this one day conference in my role as Branch Secretary of the NI Branch of the British Association for the Study and Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (BASPCAN). The conference considered some of the significant changes occurring within systems for safeguarding children. Keynote speakers addressed issues relating to the introduction and roll out of Local Safeguarding Children Boards in England; the operation of the case management/serious case review process in Northern Ireland; the systems for the identification and management of dangerous adults; and the proposals for information-sharing between professionals relating to at-risk families. The keynote speakers included Professor Eileen Munro (London School of Economics), Dr Helen Buckley (Trinity College Dublin), and Sue Woolmore (NSPCC).
