Description

Globally there is a growing backlash on feminist gains on women and girls’ rights and the concept of gender itself. Alongside this context, there has also been an embrace of feminism via Feminist Foreign Policy (FFP) across a number of countries. Many across civil society are advocating for this approach, and using FFP and Feminist Development Policy (FDP) as an opportunity to engage with the state on a diversity of topics from a new standpoint. Given this context GAPS will convene civil society actors and practitioners to explore the potential of FFP and FDP in the context of the UK, with a specific focus on its connections to gender approaches to conflict and security, and synergies with the Women, Peace and Security Framework. The one-day workshop will explore different thematic areas and inform a series of briefings, including an overarching summary paper.
