Description

Step into a lab where traditional boundaries between human and non-human, nature and technology, science and humanities dissolve. The More-than-Human Policy Lab is a School of Arts and Cultures initiative that reimagines policymaking for our interconnected world.

In an era where climate catastrophe, artificial intelligence, war, and animal rights demand urgent attention, we can no longer separate human interests from the broader web of life. Our lab serves as a vital nexus where cutting-edge research, diverse onto-epistemologies, species, the “force of things” (Bennett, 2004), and imagination meets practical policy innovation, challenging conventional anthropocentric approaches to governance and decision-making. The laboratory celebrates Élan vital (Bergson, 1907) and post-disciplinarity. Throughout 2025, we're hosting a series of one-hour workshops that will culminate in an experimental, place-based, more-than-human policy "event".
