While the EU is not a human rights organisations, the UK's membership in the EU is decisive for protecting employment rights, equality rights, environmental rights and other rights in the UK. EU membership has also been a decisive background for the functionality of the Irish peace process. Thus, it remains important to develop socio-legal solutions for an all-island perspective even if the UK should leave the EU.
