Co-organised this research experience day which involved bringing ~ 35 Sixth Form students from schools across Northern Ireland into the CCRCB and involving them in a mini cancer research programme for the day. This involved setting the context of the research experiments carried out by students in the form of different biomarker type tests to inform the treatment of a fictional cancer patient. Students then carried out A DNA extraction from human cells a diagnostic PCR reaction and immuofluorescent staining of fixed human cells to diagnose their patients specific cancer phenotype.
