Description
As a member of the Technology Innovation for Mental health and Education (TIME) Centre at Queen's University Belfast, I contribute to a dynamic hub that examines the complex intersection of technology and human experience.Building upon the foundation of the Immersive Technologies and Digital Mental Health Network established in 2019, the TIME Centre brings together a diverse community of academics, researchers, educators, industry partners, and practitioners committed to exploring technological innovation through a "technology for human good" ethos.
The Centre's transdisciplinary approach acknowledges the rapidly evolving technological landscape and the need for collaborative examination of its impacts on society. Through my involvement, I engage with colleagues across disciplines to investigate both the affordances and challenges of emerging technologies, particularly in therapeutic and pedagogical applications for mental health and social care.
The TIME Centre has established impressive resources, including the Creative Technologies and Immersive Media Lab, which provides access to cutting-edge equipment and technologies. This facility supports innovative research, teaching, and partnership activities, enabling meaningful explorations at the people-technology interface. Working within this collaborative network allows me to contribute to advancing knowledge and practice that harnesses technological innovation for positive social impact while maintaining a critical perspective on technological development.
