Activity: Other activity typesOther

Description

I am the translational lead of the TADPOLE trial an NIHR funded multi centre, phase III randomised controlled trial examining the impact of targeted axillary node dissection versus complex axillary clearance in women with early breast cancer. The trial will examine the impact of these different surgical interventions on lymphoma (arm swelling) and local cancer recurrence. The translational component of the trial will examine the impact of these surgeries on the anti-cancer immune response - in particular, immune memory and its role in long term tumour surveillance.
