On my own initiative, I pitched to Dr Michael Glass, Director of Urban Studies, University of Pittsburgh, developing a co-taught project-based undergraduate module organised around comparative analyses of urban regeneration strategies in Belfast and Pittsburgh. GGY2060 (Remaking Cities) brought together 37 students from the Urban Studies programme at Pitt and the Geography programme at Queen's to collaborate online. This Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) opportunity was the first of its sort in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences at Queen's.
