Contributing to the Northern Ireland Regional Review of the Preparation for Practice Learning Module

Activity: Consultancy typesContribution to the work of national or international committees and working groups

I was invited to contribute to this Review of the Preparation for Practice Module based on research I have led and published on service user and carer involvement in social work education in Northern Ireland. Along with a service user educator colleague, we outlined the key findings from previous and ongoing research to contribute to advancing planning on the meaningful involvement of service users and carers in social work education going forward. As a result of our contributions, the subsequent actions from this Review endorse the central position of service users in social work education, particularly in assessment on the Preparation for Practice Module right across Northern Ireland.
