This three-day training school is being organised under the auspices of COST Action 1106 ‘Offender Supervision in Europe’: www.offendersupervision.eu). This network of researchers across 23 countries promotes cooperation between institutions and individuals in different European states (and with different disciplinary perspectives) who are already carrying out research on offender supervision or who are attracted to that field. The Training School is intended for postgraduate and early stage researchers (i.e. those currently undertaking or within 8 years of completing their PhDs) working in the field of offender supervision. COST Training Schools aim to widen the knowledge of Action activities, provide intensive training on new and emerging subjects, and/or familiarize participants with new approaches being developed in the Action. COST funding covers organisation of the school and supports the participation of both trainers and trainees. The Offender Supervision in Europe Training School offers three opportunities: 1. To present and receive feedback on your own research (where it is relevant to the aims of the Action: see http://www.offendersupervision.eu/about) 2. To learn about new conceptual and methodological approaches being developed in the Action’s working groups on ‘Experiencing Supervision’, ‘Decision-making and Supervision’ and ‘Practising Supervision’; and to act as a peer reviewer of our progress. 3. To learning from experienced researchers about the ‘tricks of the trade’ and about the development of research careers.
