Cultural Values Workshop with Dr Claire Donovan (Brunel University)
This workshop was part of the funded activities of the ICTSJ Interdisciplinary Research Group on Art, Performance and Media in (Post-) Conflict Societies. The workshop critically engaged with the current social, economic, political and academic interest in measuring the value of cultural institutions, practices and activities, as indicated, for example, in the AHRC’s Cultural Value Project. The workshop was well attended by a wide range of participants from both within and outside academia. We were specifically pleased to have a good number of both UG and PG students from across different Schools of the Faculty at Queen’s participate and contribute to discussion. The aim was to explore different methods to capture the wider cultural value that extends beyond economic metrics.
