Description

Amanda designed and facilitated 3 public workshops on the theme of ‘Responding to Climate Breakdown’ as part of Culture Night 2019 in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal. These workshops incorporated community arts and non-formal educational methods to engage members of the public around socio-ecological issues.

Workshop 1 'Interrogating Climate Breakdown' created a learning circle for participants to explore ideas, understandings and causes of climate breakdown, associated consequences, and pathways for climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Workshop 2 'Climate breakdown: What are we doing about it?' Using non-formal teaching and learning methods such as a quiz and group work, participants examined a range of socio-ecological themes as the basis for articulating opportunities for change.

Workshop 3 'Creating our vision for a greener future', building on content and processes encapsulated within the preceding workshops, participants were invited to create their vision for a greener future using arts materials, song, poetry, performance or other artistic means.
