Description
An all-English teaching environment can be challenging for both new and experienced teachers, particularly in relation to the development of English oral and aural skills. Students may be competent readers and writers of English, but can experience considerable concern and difficulties when faced with the task of speaking and listening in English. Such a burden can also be carried by teachers as they step into a contemporary English class. This seminar and workshop discuss the goals of English-medium classrooms and the challenges that they can pose for both teachers and learners. With a focus on practical activities, we examine ways of overcoming such challenges and explore how to sustain a positive and productive English learning environment.
