Description

You are invited to take part in the 1st CCRCB ECR-Networking event, taking place in the Old Staff Common Room (Lanyon Building) on Wednesday November 20th, between 3 and 5 PM.
The idea to promote this event was formed during a meeting called to discuss the future directions of cancer research. At the time, a parallel discusssion took hold, and the Early Career Researchers present overwhelmingly agreed that, despite having such a vibrant team of researchers at CCRCB, we are mostly unaware of the research being conducted in other groups, and this is a missed opportunity to enhance our productivity, and to effectively use our collective multidisciplinary expertise and resources.
The need to foster Internal Communication and Strategic Collaborations among ECR were highlighted, and prompted this initiative, which is being supported by the CCRCB senior management.
This is a Networking and Showcase event, open-door and informal, and participants can join and leave as they please within the allocated time; Coffee/tea, pastries and informal conversations, will be available, and the latter can be further extended it into a happy hour at a nearby pub, for the ones keen to keep going!
The purpose is to introduce and engage, and we ask participants to bring a 3-slide/5 minute presentation on the focus of your group’s research, and what models/techniques/technologies you are interested in or an expert on (no data!).

Preliminary agenda:
3:00 PM – 5 min welcome and intro
3:05 PM – introduce, meet, engage, present, discuss, have coffee, chat…
4:45 PM – 5-10 min wrap-up and plan ahead

We hope you can make it.
Best,
Emma Allot, Cristina Branco, Aidan Cole, Mehdi Jafarneja
