These activities reinforce my international standing and sustained leadership in anatomy education and support the advancement of Educators' knowledge around the globe.Through my leadership, I influenced global best practice in anatomy teaching and evaluation, contributed to the professional development of hundreds of educators internationally and strengthened the academic community's capacity for pedagogical research and innovation. It promoted best practices in teaching evaluation, peer observation & educational scholarship with excellent feedback & global uptake by educators.
AACA is the largest and most prestigious organisation in my field (number of members 700 from 30 countries).
Activities mentioned were during the annual Meetings on 16th-19th June, 2025 Washington, 17th-21st June 2024, NY, 9th-12th July 2023, Florida 13th-17th June 2022, Texas, 28th June -2nd July 2021 virtual meeting, 15th - 19th June 2020 virtual meeting- 11th-15th June 2019, Tulsa, 7th-12th July 2018, Atlanta.
My leadership roles within this professional body in CDC was as follows:
1- Conference Paper Prize Selector
3- Organiser for the annual Mentee - Mentor Events, supported the professional growth by advising on how to develop the quality of anatomical research and strengthened academic career pathways for early career members.
5- Delivered a talk on "How to build up an impressive teaching portofolio" and workshops "How we deliver education during Covid", “Capitalizing on Clinical Connections”, and “Documenting Educational Productivity”
6- Educational Innovation and Dissemination: Co-designed the AACA workshops " How we deliver Anatomy Education during the novel Covid environment, 18th June, 2020", “Peer Feedback: An Underutilised Tool for Developing Teaching 920230”, hosted on AACA website and used by members to foster evidence-based teaching review and continuous improvement, “Implementing Technology in Anatomy Teaching” (2024) and “Critiquing Survey-Based Research: A Refresher and Upskilling” (2025). in 2025, I designed both pre- and post-session evaluation instruments to assess learning gain and workshop effectiveness. 86.84% of the participants indicated that they benefitted from attending the workshop, mentioning that it was very useful and stimulating as it focused on issues that impacted education. I led the data analysis to measure engagement, and knowledge change. This workshop enabled participants to detect commonly missing manuscript elements related to context, and validity evidence and summarize approaches for ensuring survey credibility and identifying bias.
7- Academic Influence and International Impact - Invited as a speaker for highly impactful presentations that received excellent feedback with attendee reporting
“An Anatomical Study of the Arterial and Nerve Supply of the Infrahyoid Muscles and its Use in Musculocutaneous Flaps” (2018) – enhanced surgical and anatomical teaching through detailed applied anatomy.
“How Much Anatomy Should We Teach Medical Students Using Innovative Pedagogical Techniques?” (2019) – influenced curriculum design by advocating for clinically relevant, technology-supported anatomy education.
“How Much Anatomy Should We Teach Medical Students Using Innovative Pedagogical Techniques?” (2019) – influenced curriculum design by advocating for clinically relevant, technology-supported anatomy education.
Prof. Ameed Raoof, Chair of the Educational Affair Committee and Councillor at Large (2023) “Dr Meguid’s role i has been highly instrumental. Her vast experience in medical education and in the application of innovative teaching were eminent during our discussions and planning. She led an active role in formulating a member-wide survey on the integration of educational technology in anatomy teaching. It has been a great pleasure working with her. Thanks to all her valuable contributions".
