Description

The effect of cellular mechanical metamaterials with hexagonal unit cells and variable wall-thickness were investigated with relation to crashworthiness. An auto-generated algorithm was developed to computationally model metamaterial; commence crush simulation; and output crashworthiness parameters – specific energy absorption (SEA), peak crush force (PCF), and crush force efficiency (CFE).
