Description
I now lead the School’s efforts as a member of the implementation group with oversight of the implementation of the NI Dept of Health’s Equity of Access and Outcome report (2024) intended to reshape the direction and significant contribution of learning disability nursing to health equity.
By way of background, in September 2022 the CNO and the CEx of NIPEC asked the Registered Nurse Learning Disabilities – Expert Reference Group (RNLD ERG) be established. This replaced the previous RNLD Professional Development Forum which has supported the implementation of the Strengthening the Commitment report. The primary function of the RNLD ERG from the outset was to support the outworking’s of the Registered Nurse Learning Disabilities – Strategic Workforce Development Project Group.
