Description

I was able to secure the Agility fund (£2500) to host the Head of Anatomy Department at Weill Cornell, NY. He gave an impressive Talk 'Integration of Ultrasound (US) to Anatomy Teaching" that ignited the interest of two colleagues to start integrating Ultrasound in the teaching of anatomy. This talk highlighted the fact that Ultrasound is a powerful visualisation technique for anatomy teaching.

It had been an excellent lecture hosted by Eiman where a visiting American academic described ultrasound as a way to teach the anatomy of the antecubital fossa as a prelude to ultrasound guided cannulation in later years. It is interesting to see if we could show the impact of ultrasound assisted tuition in acquiring the skill of IV cannulation.

Eiman had organised a very interesting lecture given by a visiting American academic in which he described the introduction of ultrasound ( he used the antecubital fossa as an example) into early years teaching so as to lay a foundation for more specific content in later years  in keeping with vertical integration. Similarly I know some medical students and trainee doctors who have been at the receiving end of PoCUS training, around IV cannulation given by Adam and Neil all of whom give very positive feedback and this led me to wonder if there was some way this could be incorporated into early years anatomy.
