The European Society of Criminology (ESC) is renowned for its global impact in advancing criminology as a scientific discipline and building a strong academic network. To support the development of future criminologists, the ESC has launched the European Summer School on Criminology, aimed at enriching the education of emerging scholars and fostering connections for the next generation. Its key objective is to strengthen the academic community and prepare it for future challenges. The ESC Summer School is a progressive initiative that links seasoned experts with young scholars, helping to expand the criminology community over time.The European Summer School on Criminology is a five-day, one-week course offering 2 ECTS credits. It is specifically designed for PhD students and early-career researchers in criminology, aligning with the ESC’s mission to support the professional development of young academics. The program features previous ESC award winners as instructors, ensuring continuity of high standards and mentorship. Participants are trained in conducting innovative, high-quality research and receive guidance on securing research funding and grants. This initiative aims to connect current practices with future developments, emphasize the importance of ESC honours, and prepare the next generation to succeed in obtaining research funding.
