Description

Educational Underachievement-a consideration of the policy and practice context for children under 3 in Northern Ireland. Dr Suzanne McCartney, Dr Laura Dunne (1st supervisor), Dr Barbara McConnell (2nd supervisor). In July 2020, the NI Education Minister, Peter Weir MLA, announced the appointment of an Expert Panel to explore links between educational underachievement and social disadvantage (https://www.education-ni.gov.uk/consultations/educational-underachievement-expert-panel-survey). The work of my PhD student, Suzanne McCartney, was considered as evidence by the panel (November 2020).To summarise the evidence produced, a Powerpoint presentation was developed and presented to the panel (see attached).
