Description

The LLM in Public Law was established at NUIG in 2006. IN 2011, myself (as Assistant Director of the programme) together with the Director of the programme (Ms. Marie McGonagle) decided to mark the fifth anniversary by having a conference which would bring past graduates together along with other interested parties. Being hosted in the same year as the Presidential elections and the government elections, the theme for the conference was "Executive accountability and Parliamentary democracy". Attended by members of the judiciary, TDs and even the future president Michael D. Higgins, the event was high profile in nature. Attracting significant media coverage (due to the theme) the event was featured by local and national media outlets. In organising this conference I liaised with the Conference Office, produced Conference packs, invited speakers, organised panels and chairs as well as providing attendees with direction, advice and CPD points.
