Description

This workshop is done in the context of the UNVCD expert group, which is a UN inter-agency effort to support value chain development (VCD). The objective of the group meetings is to develop a common understanding of what constitutes a value chain, how to design value chain development projects and what the benefits of VCD are. In 2017, the ITC and the ILO are hosting the UNVCD meeting under the thematic of PPP and VCD as a way to enable partnerships for sustainable an inclusive development in the context of the SDG’s and the need to foster collaborative ecosystems. For this edition, in addition to the UN Value Chain experts that attend every year we would like to include value chain stakeholders from the private sector, as well as academia to share what they are doing in relation to innovative approaches in value chain development and exchanges lessons learnt.
