External Examiner for the National University of Ireland (Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland) in Physiology to include work for RCSI Bahrain and Perdana
Activity: Examination types › UG external examination
Description
I am external examiner for the physiology element of the Junior Cycle 1, 2 and 3 undergraduate medical course for the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. The 3 junior cycle semesters run during the first 2 years of the medical course and form the basis of preclinical training for students from this institution. Each semester is comprised of 3-4 modules introducing students to anatomy, physiology, molecular medicine, neuroscience and clinical practice.
My duties are to emend examinations and assist in their composition. I visit the institution twice a year during examination boards to review the moderation process and approve or amend marks as appropriate. I also consult on the adjudication of the Kane medal for essays in neuroscience for second year medical undergraduates
As part of my duties I visit The Bahrain campus in January 2019 to attend their examination board.
