This NISCC seminar provided information and insights from the Reflections Family Support publication, giving attendees new insights and practical strategies for their work. The seminar was hosted by Aine Morrison, Chief Social Worker, DoH, Peter May, Permanent Secretary, Department of Health (DoH), Helen Dunn, Professional Adviser Family Support, and Mandi MacDonald, Senior Lecturer in Social Work, Queens University Belfast who outlined the key concepts of family support and its relevance to participants’ specific areas of work. By highlighting what families say works best for them, the seminar heard from a range of presenters who offered practical strategies that social workers and social care workers can use in their work. Finally, the presentation sought to inspire participants to deepen their knowledge and expertise in Family Support, which could lead to improved outcomes for the families they work with.Period | 31 May 2023 |
