Description
This paper introduces some of my research findings that back critical views on contemporary approaches of a new cosmopolitanism that utilise modernist connotations of a fluid cosmopolitan lifestyle for post-modern contemporary policy purpose in Europe. In contrast to mainstream perspectives I argue that advocates of neo-realist or pragmatic cosmopolitanism disregard the specific semantic historiography of the pair Weltbürger-Kosmopolit that sheds some illuminating light on a perilous ideological tool box that remains with us.
