Invited to give keynote presentation on parental substance misuse at this conference for leading representatives from the statutory and community/ voluntary sectors on the Steps to Cope programme; a structured support for young people aimed at increasing their resilience and coping mechanisms in relation to parental alcohol and substance use. The conference included guest speaker contributions from: Koulla Yiasouma (Northern Ireland Commissioner for Children and Young People), Gary Maxwell (Health Development Policy Branch, Department of Health), Dr David Hayes (Queen’s University Belfast), Lorna Templeton (Addiction and the Family International Network,) and Gary McMichael (Chief Executive of ASCERT).
