From Raman to SERS: Engineering Plasmonic Platforms for Trace Detection of Micro-and Nanoplastics

Activity: Talk or presentation typesInvited or keynote talk at national or international conference

Description

This invited presentation, delivered at the FAO/IAEA Joint Centre’s virtual consultancy meeting on Enhancing R&D capabilities to monitor and control microplastics contamination in food and agriculture, outlined recent advances in Raman and surface‑enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) for the detection of micro‑ and nanoplastics. The talk highlighted the design and fabrication of plasmonic substrates, strategies to improve sensitivity and reproducibility, and analytical workflows suitable for trace‑level detection in complex food and environmental matrices. The contribution supported the meeting’s objective of strengthening international analytical capacity for microplastic monitoring.
