    Description

    Geographical Association NI (executive committee)

Committee organises annual programme of Autumn evening lectures for GCSE and A Level Geography students and their teachers. These are hosted in the School of the Natural and Built Environment at Queen's, with typical attendance of 150-200. It also organises the GA Spring Workshop. This is a day long active learning workshop for A level students, also hosted within the University. This work is important not only in promoting and supporting the teaching of Geography in schools in the region, but also serves a very important role in marketing the SNBE and the University to the students and teachers. The region remains an important catchment area for our undergraduate students and the GA annual lecture series offers an opportunity to bring highly motivated students on campus, into the department, to hear dynamic speakers (from Queen's and elsewhere).
