Description
I organised on behalf of the Geographical Association of Ireland (GSI) an on online outreach event as part of GEOWEEK, an international initiative led by the American Association of Geographers. The event centred on an online panel discussion that celebrated career paths for those who study Geography. The panelists graduated from a variety of universities from across the island of Ireland, each representing different types of professional fields.230 people registered for the event and 87 attended.

Tanya Ward - Chief Executive, Children’s Rights Alliance (CRA works towards changing the lives of all children in Ireland by making sure that their rights are respected and protected in our laws, policies and services. They identify problems for children, develop solutions, educate and provide information on children's rights. They are one of the 17 organisations that make up the Community and Voluntary Pillar of Social Partnership).

Stephanie Keogh - Funding Manager, Terrain-AI at Maynooth University (Jointly funded by SFI and Microsoft, Terrain-AI is a multidisciplinary research collaboration developing new cloud-based, automated work-flows and machine learning data toolsets for profiling and characterising environment types for more effective and precise carbon mitigation policies and practices).
Ms. Marielle O’Lone – Associate Land Consultant, WSP (Leader within WSP Planning Information Management team, helping deliver on a variety of infrastructure projects in the highways, rail, aviation and energy sectors, throughout the UK and Ireland. She has over 20 years’ experience in GIS, land information, stakeholder management and is a Chartered Geographer with the RGS).
