Activity: Examination typesPhD external examination

Description

This thesis investigates environmental sustainability practices and strategies within European music festivals from an organiser's perspective, structured around three interlinked research domains. Each domain directly corresponds to a primary objective: 1) Analysing the environmental practices and performance of music festivals by examining how key characteristics such as territory, institutional framework, financial resources, and artistic project influence environmental outcomes; 2) Understanding the environmental decision-making processes within festivals, focusing on the motivations, perceived benefits, and barriers affecting the adoption of greening practices; and 3) Assessing the role and impact of environmental certifications on festival strategies and operations.
