Healthy Workplace Ireland report launch

Activity: Participating in or organising an event types › Participation in workshop, seminar, course

Description

I was invited to serve as a discussant and panel member at the launch of Healthy Workplace Ireland: A Survey of Mental Health & Well-Being Promotion in Irish Firms, a major national report authored by Dr Jane Bourke (UCC), Prof Stephen Roper (Warwick, ERC), and Niamh Lenihan (MTU & UCC).

The report provides the first large-scale evidence of mental health and well-being promotion across Irish private-sector firms (n=1,501), examining absenteeism, presenteeism and organisational responses to employee mental ill health, and benchmarking Irish workplaces against English counterparts.

At the launch event, I provided expert commentary on the implications of the findings for employers, policymakers and business leaders, highlighting the importance of evidence-informed strategies, leadership commitment and organisational culture in addressing mental health and productivity challenges. My contribution supported knowledge exchange between academia, government and employer bodies, strengthening the translation of research evidence into national workplace policy and practice.
