Description

Due to my work on the social history of Belfast, I was invited by Tandem Design, Event Communications and Belfast City Council to act as historical advisor for the creation of Titanic Belfast. This involved working with the designers at every stage in the process, working on the creation of content, planning and producing text for the first gallery, Boomtown Belfast, and signing off on all historical content in the visitor experience. Titanic Belfast is now the 47th most popular visitor attraction in the UK by visitor numbers with 837,000 visitors in 2018 alone. By August 2019 more than 5.7 million people had visited Titanic Belfast, the vast majority of these (80%) from overseas. It was declared the World’s Leading Visitor Attraction in the 2016 World Travel Awards,
