Description
Abstract: Computational models of tinnitus use digital simulations to allow researchers to investigate different hypotheses they may have regarding the underlying biological mechanisms responsible for the generation and sustainment of tinnitus. Such models can explore the problem at various different levels of biological realism and resolution – but can they really give us insights into the real-world problem? Can computational models just be manipulated to validate any hypothesis? How can they really be used to help tinnitus research? These questions will be explored in this talk along with some suggestions on how computational models may help unify findings across the tinnitus literature, help stratify potential sub-types of tinnitus, and help explore wider range of interventions in silico.Period | 07 Jun 2023 |
