The workshop titled How Paramilitaries End: Colombia-NI Exchange held on the 15th and 16th of June 2026 at Queen's University Belfast consists of a series of practitioner exchanges between institutions/individuals from NI and Colombia that work on paramilitary transition and/or addressing organised crime. The purpose of this Colombian-NI practitioner exchange is to share lessons, challenges, and policy ideas on tackling paramilitarism and organised crime as well as disengagement, demobilisation, and long-term peacebuilding processes, drawing on experiences from Northern Ireland, Colombia, and other international contexts.
