Description

As part of my sustained leadership in nursing education and internationalisation, I have been involved in developing and leading on the International Nursing Programme (INP), established by QUB School of Nursing and Midwifery, and their partnership with the Children's Cancer Unit Charity (CCUC). This is a transformative student experience, offering three final year children and young people's nursing students the chance to travel to Atlanta, Georgia, USA in collaboration with the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorder Center in the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA). Also incorporating educational opportunities at Emory University’s, Nell Hodgeson Woodruff School of Nursing.

Through this project, I engaged directly with students, Aflac representatives, faculty, CHOA clinicians, and led student preparation and travel, supervision models, and risk management. I have been involved with resource and budget management, internationalisation. The partnership and project is ongoing.
