Description

International Respiratory Syncytial Virus Society (IRSVS).
IRSVS has evolved from a series of global symposia that was initiated in 1996. It has organised meetings approximately every other year, and has become a global independent group of approximately 500 RSV professionals with members from all continents working on all research fronts. The mission of the IRSVS is to promote and support excellence in research, scholarship, clinical practice, and the development of interventions to prevent disease caused by respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) for the benefit of human and animal health and welfare.
This is achieved by organizing global IRSVS symposia and by providing authoritative, independent and impartial advice to those sharing our mission and goals (including governmental and non-governmental bodies, funders and industry).
I was appointed Chair of IRSVS in 2018, and tasked with organizing this global symposium in Northern Ireland in 2020.
