Description
This international conference and workshop was by invitation, with me being the sole representative from the UK, with others from Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, the World Bank and UN Habitat. The aim of the conference was to make recommendations on how to go about creating a national special development framework for the whole country. The event was four days – with a opening event with over 500 people across government, property, development, ownership, state, and private investment, along with advisory bodies, departments etc.My contribution was to listen, advise and visually articulate the issues and strategies for the development of the framework. The roundup closing recommendation session, at the end of the conference was structured around my doodles and diagrams, forming a focus for presentation and discussion. This closing session was attended by many of those attended the opening event.
In August 2024 for the head of the Spatial and Urban Development Agency posted on LinkedIn that one of my diagrams/doodles hangs in his office as a reminder of the strategies and possibilities through collective collaboration – trust, surety and confidence.
Outside of the conference process I also introduced SUDA to the Royal Town Planning Institute resulting in a visit from SUDA to the RTPI in July 2024.
