Gail Ritchie (Presenter)
Activity: Talk or presentation types › Invited talk
Description
The purpose of this workshop is to use film to explore public attitudes towards gender, sexuality and ageing. By bringing together social science survey results and film studies techniques, we explore how women are aged on screen. The speakers and audience will be invited to ask important questions such as ‘When does old age begin?’ and ‘Does the answer to this question differ for men and women?’ The aim of the workshop is to generate questions for the Northern Ireland Life and Times Surveys on public attitudes to gender, ageing and sexuality both on screen and in everyday life.
