Invited  Two Talks  - Invited by the CBMSE Scholarship and Research Committee (SARC). I was invited to deliver two Talks (Dec 2016 & June 2017) : 1- "Students' Perceptions of lecturing approaches: Traditional versus Interactive teaching" 2- “Measuring medical students' motivation to learning anatomy by cadaveric dissection”

Activity: Talk or presentation typesOral presentation

Description

During these talks, I highlighted my recent pedagogic innovations, disseminating best practice.

In the 1st talk, I introduced Poll Everywhere ARS as a worthwhile teaching methodology in lectures to review previous learning concepts and increase the interactive activities. This interactive innovative method was the focus of a research work that was later published (28th June 2017).

Siddiqui et al. (Faculty of Medicine, St George’s Hospital Medical School, London) wrote a Letter to Editor of the Advance in Medical Education and Practice Journal. The topic was “Using mobile audience response system to enhance medical education: a medical student perspective”, 2017; 8: 325-327.

In this letter, they commended my publication on 'Students Perceptions of lecturing approaches' as it highlights the benefits of implementing interactive learning techniques. It was adopted by them. This is an example of my national impact on other colleagues in Teaching and Learning.
